The water softening process is based on an ion exchange resin, which removes the calcium and magnesium salts. Only the best resins are selected for this purpose.

For efficiency and economical use of salt, the softener regeneration process is controlled on a volume basis. Wychwood's water softeners include the latest in process control, where treated water volume per regeneration and salt consumption, are all fully programmable.
