CAM-V underfloor supply air and high level return air
Underfloor air conditioning was specified by Cundall for the Institute of Physics, a world-leading scientific society exhibition space in London.
The new accommodation has been purposely designed to provide education and exhibition facilities for the local community, as well as provide office space for the Institute. Designed by Architect, Tate Hindle, the building has a number of energy-saving and sustainability features, designed to perform both during construction, and over the building’s lifetime.
The primary ventilation system was not deemed to be sufficient to cool the lower ground basement area. A single CAM-V44 unit is located at the bottom of the large fresh air shaft and a total of 16 TU4-EC Fantiles are recessed into the 800mm floor void, supplying conditioned air into the 367m2 exhibition space.
