PCE Instruments has launched the PCE-PMI 1BT, a compact moisture meter that provides non-destructive testing to measurement depths of between 20 and 40mm. Instead of having a display, thePCE-PMI 1BT uses a Bluetooth 4.0 interface to send measurement data to a mobile device. A free 'PCE Smart Measure Environmental' app is then used to display, save and store values on a mobile device. This moisture meter is therefore ideal for anyone who frequently checks the moisture in buildings or stored materials and wants to document results easily.

Applications

The PCE-PMI 1BT moisture meter is not preconfigured for specific materials and can therefore be used universally. However, the numerical percentage values displayed in the app should not be interpreted as percentages for the relative humidity of a material or building material. The displayed measured values are nevertheless well suited to quickly identifying areas with moisture penetration and to narrow down the areas with the highest moisture. By making repeated measurements in the same place at different times, it is also easy to check whether the moisture content is falling, stagnating or rising.
