IFE aims to improve the science and practice of fire extinction, fire prevention and fire engineering.
Under its Engineering Council UK license, it is authorised to register suitably qualified members as Chartered Engineers (CEng), Incorporated Engineers (IEng) and Engineering Technicians (Eng Tech).
It has a membership of approximately 12,000 with 39 international branches.
