Radiator valves

(46)

Thermostatic radiator valves (TRV) consist of two parts: a sensor and a valve. The sensor monitors room temperature and adjusts the valve in order to control the flow of hot water to the radiator. If it’s too cold, it increases the flow, and if it’s too hot it shuts it off. Read More

Most TRVs are set manually, although they can also be controlled digitally. Their key benefit is reduced energy costs: the radiator is only on if the room temperature falls below the designated level.

Separate thermostat heads are also available. Some have remote sensors, allowing the room temperature to be monitored at a distance from the radiator.

Unlike TRVs, which are termed 'set and forget' valves, manual radiator valves need to be continually turned up or down if a constant temperature is to be maintained.

The likelihood that someone forgets to turn a valve down if a room is too warm or not being used is the main reason for their relative energy inefficiency.

Their major advantage is that they are smaller, and the distinct aesthetic that contemporary or retro versions give is not compromised by the thermostat.

Lockshield valves are used to balance central heating systems. They also allow individual radiators to be shut off for maintenance without affecting the rest of the system.

  • RL-1-E single-pipe return valves
RL-1-E single-pipe return valves are suitable for water heating systems. They are available in straight and angled versions. Standard models have nickel plated threaded sockets. The valve is shut-off or opened by turning the spindle by means of the Herz multi-purpose key or an 8mm Allen key. The return valve permits the shut-off of the return
  • DE LUXE return valves
The DE LUXE return valve allows shut-off on a radiator return connection. When both the intake and return valves are shut-off (thermostatic head in position 0) the radiator can be removed while the system is under pressure, without having to close off the rest of the system. The return valve ensures exact control of the water flow rate through the
  • Return valve with knurled cap
Herzs bi-directional valves can be installed as either a vertical or horizontal thermostatic valve. Features include: Bi-directional flow. Stylish liquid filled sensor. Five-year warranty. Conforms to EN 215 6-28°C temperature range. 8, 10 and 15mm sizes. Valves can be supplied either individually or as a set. Two return valve are available: the
  • DE LUXE thermostatic valve
The DE LUXE thermostatic valve is used for water heating applications. The upper part of the valve can be removed and/or changed by means of the HERZ changing tool while the system is under pressure. An O-ring is used as a spindle seal. It is located in a brass chamber that can be changed during operation. The O-ring ensures excellent valve
