Westley Middle School
Trinity Heat Care Ltd
Stokvis R605 boiler
Westley Middle School in Bury St Edmunds has 468 pupils aged 9-13, and hosts some 60 clubs each week, both at lunchtime and after school, including activities such as basketball, soccer and badminton.
The plant room was upgraded to improve energy efficiency and reliability, as the result of a smoothly executed refurbishment contract carried out by specialist consultants and installers.
A pair of Stokvis R605 boilers were installed by Trinity Heat Care Ltd along with one of Stokvis Energy Systems' C3Ai Econoplate plate heat exchangers and a 500 litre buffer vessel. This provided the school with all its heating and domestic hot water for the washrooms, showers and catering requirements.
Dave Goble, who heads Maverick Consultancy, commented: "I cover not just the Midlands but projects nationally, working in the education as well as commercial and other sectors, so am frequently involved with the installation or replacement of large commercial boilers. In the case of the Westley Middle School in Bury St Edmunds, I specified the Stokvis R605 boilers, together with a plate heat exchanger based on my past experience of working with Stokvis."
The project was completed in time for the start of the academic year.
The Stokvis R600 range encompasses seven models with outputs from 142 to 539kW, allowing them to provide either heating for LTHW systems, DHWS or even process water for high demand applications.
They are specified for various large public and private sector premises such as schools, hospitals, commercial offices and sports complexes. Fully modulating and offering very low NOx, they are compact enough to be manoeuvred through doorways from 670 to 770mm wide, making them ideal for refurbishment situations.
