The Park Regis Hotel at Five Ways Birmingham is part of a 175,000 sq ft mixed-use development that comprises a four-star 250 bed hotel with rooftop sky bar and spa, conferencing facilities and retail space on Broad Street in Birmingham city centre. The new hotel opened for guests in February 2016.

The project, designed by 5plus Architects, involved the regeneration of an existing 1960′s office building, Auchinleck House, which was home to Hoare Lea & Partners Consulting Engineers for almost three decades before they moved to Hagley Road in 2009.

BLÜCHER worked on a custom solution to meet the demands of the project. Linear drainage channels were designed for the fire-fighting lift, to prevent water from entering lift wells.

Channel gratings are secured within the channel, giving pleasing slotted aesthetics, as well as being fit for purpose.

These channels, as with all BLÜCHER® drainage products, were produced in stainless steel. Grade AISI 304 or grade AISI 316L is available.

This material is suitable for drainage systems as it is fire resistant, its high strength makes it resistant to impacts, and its low weight helps to reduce the carbon footprint.
